Blooms & Butterflies
23Jun2018“A Celebration of Color in the Garden”
ECEC’s butterfly gardens and native plant park are the backdrop for this annual celebration. There’s something for everyone, including craft vendors, garden demos, a used book sale and more! Listen to live music by Steel Wool from Eugene and a special performance by the Elkton band camp. Take a tour of historic Fort Umpqua and learn about the life cycle of native butterflies in the ECEC flight room. Enjoy a BBQ lunch on the patio or fresh baked goods and coffee drinks in the Outpost Cafe. Stroll through the gardens and find garden-themed gifts and plants for your own backyard habitat in our Gift Shop and Native Plant Nursery.
Doors open at 9 am and the festivities start with the scenic 5K Butterfly Run / Walk and free Kid’s Fun Run. Vendor booths open at 10 am.
Live Demos and Invited Speakers:
- Creating a Monarch Waystation – Barb Slott, ECEC’s Butterfly Steward
- Using Native Plants in Your Backyard Habitat – Valerie Moody, ECEC’s Garden Manager
