Save time, money, and water with native plants!

Our Nursery offers a wide range of native plants and butterfly-friendly perennials. Using native plants in your backyard habitat will attract pollinators, reduce irrigation use and provide a natural defense against invasive species.  We seasonally carry pollinator perennials and native plants. Check out our complete plant list here!

Looking for information about the 35 native Oregon plants most used for landscaping? “Native Plants of Oregon for Landscape Use” is a student researched and compiled book available to order in the ECEC Gift Shop.

To check current plant availability or to order the Native Plants of Oregon for Landscape Use book please contact ECEC.

Right Plant, Right Place

Need ideas for how to incorporate native plants in your landscape?  One approach is to create a Monarch Waystation with a mix of host plants (milkweed) and nectar-producing plants that flower in the early, mid and late summer.  Check out these sample garden layouts designed by Deserae Maxwell from our youth employment program.

Working on a larger project?  Contact the office for information about bulk purchases and planting plans.  And check out our plants in the new pollinator corridor at Dean Creek Elk Viewing Area and in our large-scale milkweed demo bed on site at ECEC.

Where to Find our Plants

Our Nursery is open year round during office hours. ECEC is also the official plant vendor for the annual Glide Wildflower Show, and we have a booth at the Douglas County Master Gardeners’ Show each year on the first Saturday of May. For the widest selection of plants (including veggie starts and hanging baskets) be sure to attend our Mother’s Day Plant Sale in Elkton!
