Blooms & Butterflies
21Jun2025It is time to CELEBRATE the return of the Blooms & Butterflies to our area at a fun, family-friendly event!!
The festivities start at 9 am with a scenic 5K Butterfly Run/Walk along the Umpqua River-butterfly costumes encouraged!
Enjoy free kids’ activities, live music, craft vendors, information booths and food throughout the day. Take a tour of historic Fort Umpqua and learn about the life cycle of native butterflies in the ECEC flight room. Find garden-themed presents in our Gift Shop and plants for your own backyard habitat in our Native Plant Nursery. Scroll down for a full schedule.

8:00 am – 10:30 am Check-In/Registration
9:00 am – Butterfly Flight Room & Fort Umpqua Tours begin
9:00 am – “Mountain Men” Historic Encampment at the Fort
9:00 am – 10:30 am – Butterfly 5K Run/Walk
9:15 am – 10:30 am – Dragonfly ¼ Mile Loop Starts @ 15 minute intervals
9:00 am – 11:00 am – Yoga Cool Down Drop-in Lead by Jen Champion of Vista Wellness
10:00 am – Vendor booths open
10:00 am – 2:00 pm – Thundering Water Recreation “WOWtruck”
11:00 am – Award Ceremony & Costume Contest
11:00 am – 2:00 pm – BBQ Lunch presented by Thomas Batterman Mental Health Project
11:30 am – 1:30 pm – Live Music by “1 to 5”
12:00 pm – 2:00 pm – Origami Butterfly Craft in the Library
1:15 pm – 1:30 pm – “Butterfly Talk” with ECEC’s Butterfly Steward
4:00 pm – Event Closes
