Put your best butterfly costume on for a scenic 5K Run / Walk along the Umpqua River in Elkton. Let’s be honest– we’re all ready for some outdoor fun!
Registration is just $5, and you can start anytime between 9 am – 11 am. Kids are invited to run the 5k this year for free! Run or walk at your own pace, then come back to get lunch, enjoy the Blooms & Butterflies Festival and enter the butterfly costume contest. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for runners 12 and under, 12-21 or 22 and older awarded during the butterfly costume contest from 11:30 am – 12 pm.
Check out the Limited Edition Commemorative Sports Towel featuring original art by local artist and author Jen Dalen Wolfe. Purchase a towel to commemorate the 15th annual run and support ECEC’s programs. This year’s run is organized by Elkton Football (Soccer) Club!
Enjoy free kids’ activities, live music, home & garden craft vendors, food, and tours of Butterfly Pavillion and Fort Umpqua throughout the day. Join us for a full day of festivities and help us kick off the season at ECEC!
The course starts at ECEC’s Native Plant Park, follows River Road through town, crosses Elk Creek, and ends back at ECEC. Run or walk along the banks of the Umpqua River while on your route, and show off your best butterfly attire to win a prize!
