Dear friends, neighbors and guests,
I’m writing to let you know about an upcoming change at ECEC.
After 10+ years serving as Executive Director, I’ll be stepping down at the end of the summer. It’s been an honor to guide this wonderful organization through waves of growth and transition.
Elkton is a special place, where people come together to create the places, relationships and experiences that keep our small town vibrant. I encourage you to stay–or become–actively involved as we get ready for the next phase of ECEC’s life.
We have a great team of current and former board members leading the search for a new leader. We’ve also hired Mary Miller of Eugene to guide the process, bringing her years of experience supporting rural nonprofits through leadership transitions.
In the weeks ahead the board of directors will formally announce the job search, with information about the position and how to apply. I encourage you to help spread the word when that happens.
This summer, ECEC is also celebrating 25 years of community-building in Elkton. We’re planning a great lineup of activities, an anniversary party Labor Day weekend, and an “Adopt-A-Bench” fundraising campaign to rebuild the amphitheater in the Carol A. Beckley Native Plant Park.
I look forward to spending the next five months with you–celebrating the great things we’ve done together, and working with you to make ECEC as strong as it can be for the years ahead.
There are many reasons–and ways–to stay connected with ECEC this summer! I hope you’ll join us.
The journey continues,
