The town of Elkton is putting out the welcome mat Thanksgiving weekend with our 13th annual Art & Wine Tour.
Enjoy a one-of-a-kind holiday shopping experience featuring handmade gifts, world-class wines and more. Connect with the artisan or winemaker who made your gift while soaking in a little small-town charm.
Read on for a list of featured artists and activities, then download your event passport with each site’s hours and location. (Passports are also available at each site during the tour.)
Your passport doubles as an entry to win a raffle basket with items from local businesses. Enter the raffle by collecting five or more stamps from each local business that you visit.

Art Exhibits on the Tour…
Visit Elkton’s newest home studio, Elk Creek Glass to see the ancient art of blowing and fusing glass. Watch the different ways they layer colorful glass to make cups, coasters, plates, bowls, lampshades, and art pieces. Classes will start this winter, so you can learn glass blowing or fusing to make your own magic!
Metal artist Cliff Scharf has been making “handcrafted jewelry with an updated twist” for nearly five decades. His son Sam Scharf is also a talented jewelry maker. Together, they are Scharf Family Jewelers and will be at Bradley Vineyards during the event.
Painter Jane Wood has been painting for about 50 years, everything from still-lifes to landscapes. Jane captures evocative rural landscapes on canvas and is an experienced plein air artist; you can find Jane’s art on display at Brandborg Winery.
Susan Applegate’s work is on display at River’s Edge Winery throughout the event.
William Rose Wines @ Anindor is hosting a well-known Eugene artist–name to be announced soon!
The “Rivers” art installation in the Joan Arsenault Library at the Elkton Community Education Center includes original art work from Susan Applegate, Cindie Brooks Brewer, Sherrie Brooks, Elyan Jamot, Marsha Mello, Nancy Watterson Scharf, and Jane Wood. Many pieces are for sale.
Did you know…Arlene’s Cafe is home to a popular mural by Sunbaum & Winans? This weekend is a great time to check out permanent art installations in Elkton, including outdoor works at ECEC by Marie Rasmussen & Timothy Johannes, a stunning stone fountain by Lincoln Russel, a 24′ decorative cast iron grills by internationally-known Jan Zach and metal art by Phil Beck.
Artists, Gifts & More at ECEC…
Start your tour at the Elkton Community Education Center (ECEC) at 15850 Highway 38 to pick up a tour passport.
We’ll have Live Artists in Action from 12-2 each day. Bring the kids on Friday for a children’s interactive ART Project with Neva Roloson. Visit with professional watercolor artist Lisa Lewis Saturday as she works on her current project, and on Sunday, Deb Gritton will be giving a Fiber Arts Demonstration.
The library will be filled with artisans and crafters selling their creations, including Cindy Barlow, Janet Barton (candles, soap & salves), Lauren Foster, Deb Gritton & Paula Lewis (crocheted scarves & hats, specialty soaps and whimsical Lego creations), Janet Kohl, Hope Krissie, Lisa Lewis, Alan Mooney, Erin Moser, Kaylinda Taylor & Talitha James, and Sue Ward. We’ll also have a special section of vintage serving dishes, jewelry, needlework, and wooden tabletop items.
Cathy Byle & Family will be selling Christmas Trees on the patio by the Gift Shop, along with Valerie Moody’s popular Holiday Swags (greenery).
While you’re there, you can get your presents gift wrapped, enjoy a casual lunch, coffee drinks and desserts from the Outpost Cafe, sample wine from Lexème Wines, and peruse the new “Rivers” art exhibit.

The Elkton Lodge Hall, Fri & Sat 10-4 is hosting a silent auction to benefit Elkton City Park, and ten local artisans including Michelle Warden (“Itty Bitty Kitty” & paintings) * Beverly Libby Borque (Custom Fabric Creations) * Cecilia * Jennifer Wolfe (Art, Books, & Gnomes) * Sarah Mills (Lavender & Soaps) * Jenn Wilde (Jams & Jellies) * Nancy Harbaugh * Linda Cereda * Joane Sprott.
Farm Pickins Mercantile on First Street always offers a beautiful selection of holiday gifts and features artists’ work. Shop vintage and antique gifts, repurposed furniture, and holiday decorations. THIS WEEKEND ONLY they will be hosting specialty soap maker Chamomile Jane & Green Bird Mountain Pottery. Open Friday-Sunday 9-5.
Food & Wine…
Fine-crafted wines are another type of artistry, and Elkton’s wineries produce a range of styles to suit different tastes and budgets.
This is the perfect year to visit your favorite wineries and welcome new winemakers to the area.
Bradley Vineyards tasting room/winery will be open Fri-Sun, 11-5. Hosting Scharf Family Jewelers.
Brandborg Winery tasting room/winery will be open Fri-Sun, 11-5, with a show of artist Jane Woods‘ work.
Crew Works will be pouring at the Lodge Hall on Friday and Saturday.
Explore Knoll Vineyards’ wines at Tomaselli’s Restaurant, and support the new restaurant owners while you’re there.
Lexème will be pouring samples and selling bottles in the ECEC library Fri-Sun 10-4, while they prepare to open a new tasting room.
River’s Edge Winery tasting room/winery will be open Fri-Sun, 11-5, and featuring artwork by Susan Applegate.
The Anindor tasting room is open again Fri-Sun, 11-5, under new ownership from William Rose Wines; and will have a guest artists visiting during the tour.
